| Yoga By The Sound is a unique
approach to slowly transforming your daily physical and emotional experience.
In her yoga practice, Mary encompasses different aspects of the yogic tradition,
but her main focus is on relaxation, breathing, and centering with the breath
as a poweful force in the body. The breath is the life-force of energy and
is helpful for relaxation and centering.The breath is always with us and
in yoga the breath helps to hold difficult postures. Most people don't breath
to the body's full capacity and therefore do not receive the benefits of
deep breathing. This is something that Yoga By The Sound can help you to
bring into your life.
Classes begin with a centering meditation which encourages a focus on the present and letting go of distractions. The class then moves into warm ups and postures which are explained visually and verbally. A cool down and final relaxation completes the session. All levels of yoga practitioners are welcome, classes accommodate beginners to advanced students. Mary teaches weekly classes and offers private sessions which can be made by appointment. Classes are held in East Setauket,with a view of the Long Island Sound. |
